1. Purpose of this Code

This Professional Code of Conduct explains the standards that every professional must follow when using QuoteLink.

QuoteLink exists to help customers find reliable service professionals and to help honest professionals access genuine customer opportunities.

Professionals who misuse customer information, mislead customers, abuse disputes, provide poor conduct, or damage platform trust may be restricted, suspended, removed, or permanently blocked.

2. Who this Code applies to

This Code applies to every professional, business, employee, contractor, subcontractor, sales representative, installer, technician, consultant, or other person who uses a professional QuoteLink account or contacts customers through leads obtained from QuoteLink.

If a business account is used by multiple people, the business owner or account holder is responsible for making sure that all users follow this Code.

3. Core professional standards

  • Be honest and respectful.
  • Use customer information only for the customer’s request.
  • Provide accurate business and service information.
  • Quote fairly and transparently.
  • Follow all laws and industry requirements that apply to the work.
  • Avoid pressure, harassment, spam, or misleading sales tactics.
  • Help maintain a trustworthy marketplace.

4. Accurate profile and business information

Professionals must provide accurate and up-to-date business names, contact details, service categories, service areas, qualifications, insurance claims, portfolio images, reviews, and testimonials.

Professionals must not pretend to be part of QuoteLink, endorsed by QuoteLink, certified by QuoteLink, or guaranteed by QuoteLink unless QuoteLink has expressly given written permission.

5. Honest quoting and pricing

Professionals must quote honestly and clearly. Professionals must not advertise fake low prices, add hidden charges, mislead customers about call-out fees, mislead customers about deposits, or pressure customers into urgent payment using false claims.

Professionals should clearly explain call-out fees, labour charges, material costs, deposit terms, quote validity, cancellation terms, and any important exclusions before the customer accepts the quote.

6. Customer contact rules

Professionals must contact customers respectfully and only about the specific request submitted on QuoteLink.

  • Do not harass, threaten, insult, or pressure customers.
  • Do not spam customers with repeated calls or messages.
  • Do not contact customers at unreasonable hours.
  • Do not contact customers about unrelated services without consent.
  • Do not continue contacting a customer after the customer asks you to stop.

7. Customer personal information

Professionals receive customer information only so they can respond to the specific customer request.

Professionals may not resell customer lead information, share customer details with unrelated third parties, upload customer details publicly, use customer information for unrelated marketing, store customer information longer than necessary, or use customer information for fraud, spam, scams, or unlawful conduct.

If a professional wants to refer work to a subcontractor or partner, the professional must first get the customer’s permission where customer personal information will be shared.

8. No false claims or misleading conduct

Professionals must not mislead customers, QuoteLink, or other users.

  • No fake qualifications, licences, insurance claims, or registrations.
  • No fake reviews, fake portfolio work, or fake testimonials.
  • No false emergency claims or misleading availability claims.
  • No misleading warranties, guarantees, or service promises.
  • No misleading claims about QuoteLink’s involvement in the job.

9. Licences, permits, safety, and legal compliance

Professionals are responsible for complying with all laws, industry standards, safety rules, municipal requirements, tax obligations, permits, licences, registrations, and professional requirements that apply to their services.

QuoteLink may request proof of qualifications, licences, registrations, insurance, or compliance where relevant.

10. Appointments and attendance

Professionals must arrive on time where an appointment has been confirmed, inform the customer as early as possible if delayed, cancel respectfully if they cannot attend, avoid no-shows, and avoid sending an unapproved substitute without informing the customer.

Repeated no-shows, cancellations, or customer complaints may result in account review or suspension.

11. Work quality and after-service conduct

Professionals must perform work with reasonable care, skill, and professionalism.

Professionals must explain the scope of work clearly, confirm material changes before charging extra, honour written quotes and agreed terms, provide invoices or receipts where appropriate, and respond reasonably to legitimate customer complaints.

12. Deposits and upfront payments

Professionals must clearly explain why a deposit is needed, whether it is refundable, what it covers, when work will start, what happens if the customer cancels, and what happens if the professional cannot complete the work.

Professionals must not take deposits with no intention or reasonable ability to perform the work.

13. No bribery, corruption, or improper inducements

Professionals must not offer or accept bribes, kickbacks, secret commissions, or improper inducements linked to QuoteLink leads, customer work, reviews, disputes, staff decisions, or platform access.

Serious breaches may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal.

14. Dispute and refund behaviour

Professionals may submit disputes in good faith under QuoteLink’s Refund & Dispute Policy.

Professionals must not submit false disputes, exaggerate dispute facts, submit misleading screenshots, claim they contacted a customer when they did not, pressure customers to provide refund evidence, or dispute valid leads simply because the customer did not hire them.

15. Lead buying responsibility

Professionals must review lead information before buying and decide whether the category, location, job description, timing, budget indicator, lead price, and competition indicator are suitable.

Buying a lead does not guarantee a job, appointment, sale, quote acceptance, or customer response.

16. No platform abuse

Professionals must not scrape leads, harvest customer data, create fake customer requests, create duplicate professional accounts, share login details with unauthorised people, bypass platform security, manipulate ratings or reviews, or use QuoteLink to attack competitors.

17. Reviews, ratings, and feedback

Professionals must not create fake reviews, pay for fake reviews, pressure customers to leave positive reviews, threaten customers over negative reviews, offer refunds only in exchange for review removal, or retaliate against customers who complain.

Professionals may politely ask customers to leave honest feedback.

18. Respectful conduct and non-discrimination

Professionals must treat customers, QuoteLink staff, other professionals, and third parties with respect.

Professionals must not discriminate, harass, insult, threaten, exploit, abuse, intimidate, or use hate speech, sexual harassment, or aggressive behaviour.

19. Subcontractors and staff

If a professional uses staff, sales agents, technicians, installers, drivers, subcontractors, or external partners, the professional remains responsible for their conduct when handling QuoteLink leads or customer information.

20. Customer complaints

QuoteLink may review complaints about harassment, spam, false claims, poor conduct, no-shows, deposit disputes, misuse of customer information, unsafe work, aggressive sales behaviour, fraud, or suspected fraud.

QuoteLink may ask the customer or professional for evidence.

21. Investigation and enforcement

QuoteLink may investigate suspected breaches of this Code by reviewing platform activity, lead purchase history, complaints, professional responses, dispute history, verification documents, review patterns, and abuse or fraud signals.

QuoteLink may issue warnings, restrict lead access, restrict disputes, hide profile visibility, remove verification indicators, temporarily suspend an account, permanently remove an account, notify affected customers, or escalate serious legal, privacy, fraud, or safety concerns.

22. Immediate suspension triggers

QuoteLink may immediately suspend or restrict an account where there is evidence or reasonable suspicion of fraud, harassment, threats, misuse of personal information, fake documents, fake reviews, bribery, illegal services, serious safety risk, repeated customer complaints, payment fraud, or attempts to bypass account restrictions.

23. Appeals

A professional may request review of an enforcement decision by contacting QuoteLink support with the professional account email, business name, decision being appealed, explanation, and supporting evidence where available.

QuoteLink may uphold, change, reduce, or reverse an enforcement decision based on available evidence.

24. Relationship with other QuoteLink policies

This Code works together with the QuoteLink Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Refund & Dispute Policy, Lead Quality Rules, Customer Consent Notice, and any category-specific rules published on the platform.

25. Changes to this Code

QuoteLink may update this Code from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with the updated date.

Continued use of QuoteLink after changes means the professional accepts the updated Code.
